Dreams

Not your favorite ones from your head in the pillow; the things that keep you up at night and take your focus away from everything else you try doing daily.

.

I can't stop dreaming about being an Olympic dark horse.

.

Now you can't just dream and show up at the Olympics, it takes planning and execution with MILES of hard work and other intangible variables. The same for any dream you may think of and set sights on. A World Champion at any Level and on any Stage in any Sport takes years of discipline and technique beyond just what you learn at your local gym - unless you live locally near world renowned facilities.

.

A dream is only a dream until you act on it, and even when you get in motion you may not be efficiently working towards your goals. If you've ever played youth sports you remember the feeling of not being able to correctly do everything the coach asked and not on the same level, as well as them correcting you when you make mistakes. As an adult chasing a dream, you sometimes need to put the pride aside and accept a mentor. Find a coach. And yes, sometimes even a coach needs a coach.

.

To really get to your dreams, ask yourself this: Am I doing everything I need to be doing today to set me up for the best possible chance of my dreams happening today?

.

Even if it's unrealistic you still need to be focused and working towards your dreams daily as if they might come to fruition in any minute. I don't wait until a month before competition to train for it - it's 5 months out and I'm already in training camp. What are you doing to chase your dreams?

If your dreams don't scare you, they may be too small.
